Board of Directors

Nicole Cerra, President, graduated from the Claremont Colleges with a B.A. in Anthropology (2002). She is the Education Coordinator at Coal Oil Point Reserve and S & W's Tour Program Coordinator.

Jennifer Stroh, Vice President, graduated from UCSB with a B.S. in Zoology in 2000 and has a well-developed background in wildlife conservation as well as public relations. She has contracted and volunteered with the Santa Barbara Audubon for over seven years and is employedat the Natural Reserve System, through which she coordinates the plover program at Coal Oil Point. She currently resides on the board of the Citizens Planning Foundation

Tara Longwell, Secretary, is the Coal Oil Point Reserve Steward and is involved with many projects at Coal Oil Point Reserve including propagating native plants, coordinating habitat restoration volunteers and interns, and assisting with Devereux Slough Ecological Monitoring Program.  

Anthony Lopez, treasurer, is a Political Science Graduate Student at UCSB. He has been a Snowy Plover Docent for three years.

Steve Ferry is a Snowy Plover Docent and past President of S & W.  He is a retired engineer and is also on the boards of Santa Barbara Audubon Society and Audubon California.

Darcie Goodman is currently a PhD candidate at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, focusing on estuarine monitoring and management. She recieved her B.S in Aquatic Biology and Political Science from UCSB in 2001. She has an extensive background in wetland monitoring and wildlife conservation and management. She has been a researcher for Coal Oil Point Reserve since 1998. At the Reserve she studies the human disturbance effects on Western Snowy Plovers and monitoring of the Devereux Slough Ecosystem. She is also the Coordinator of the Devereux Slough Monitoring Program.

Julia Vraspir just joined Shorelines & Watersheds earlier this year. She recently redesigned the webpage and is a graduate student in the Marine Science department at UCSB.

Pat Walker, Membership Coordinator, is a Contract and Grant Analyst in the Chemistry Department at UCSB.
